What makes the buffet special

A balance of meat and vegetarian choices

One of the biggest reasons people return is the impressive range of both meat and vegetarian dishes. Chicken, lamb, and beef curries are rotated to keep things interesting, while vegetarian staples such as lentils, spinach with paneer, and eggplant curry provide deep flavor without heaviness.

Regulars often comment that there are plenty of choices for everyone at the table, including those who prefer plant based meals and those who crave hearty meat dishes. The balance keeps the buffet from feeling repetitive, even for frequent visitors.

Fresh sides and lighter bites

Alongside the rich curries, the buffet includes veggie and fruit selections that add color and freshness to the plate. These lighter elements are a welcome contrast to the spices and sauces, helping diners build a well rounded meal that does not feel overwhelming.

Menu highlights that guests love

The menu at New India Buffet Bar & Restaurant goes beyond the basics. Several standout items appear again and again in customer feedback.

Classic curries and rice dishes

Butter chicken with rice remains a favorite for many guests, thanks to its smooth tomato sauce and tender chicken. Lamb curry also gets high praise, especially for its deep spices and generous portions.

Lamb biryani is another crowd pleaser. The fragrant rice, slow cooked lamb, and aromatic spices make it a filling and satisfying choice. For those who enjoy milder comfort food, dal makhani offers creamy lentils with just the right touch of warmth.

Vegetarian specialties

Vegetarian diners will find plenty to enjoy, including palak paneer, eggplant curry, and customized vegetable thaali options. Paneer pakora brings a crisp texture to the table, making it a popular pick for those who enjoy fried starters.

These dishes are prepared with care, which shows in their flavor and presentation. They are not afterthoughts but core parts of the menu.

Drinks that complete the meal

Mango lassi is a refreshing favorite that cools the palate after spicy dishes. Chai tea offers a warming finish with its blend of milk and spices. During lunch hours, coffee, iced tea, and lemonade are also available, giving guests plenty of options to match their meal.

A focus on generous portions and real value

One detail that stands out in nearly every review is portion size. Diners consistently mention how filling the meals are and how they leave satisfied without feeling rushed. The buffet format allows guests to sample many dishes, while those ordering specific plates like lamb biryani or butter chicken note that the servings are big and flavorful.

This sense of value matters in a busy city like Vancouver, where dining out can be costly. New India Buffet Bar & Restaurant offers a reliable option for those who want quality food without breaking their routine or their budget.

This consistent level of service adds to the overall comfort of the experience. Diners feel taken care of rather than hurried, which turns a simple meal into something memorable.

An ideal spot for lunch or relaxed dinner

The location works well for professionals on a lunch break as well as for families looking for an easy dinner option. The buffet format saves time, while the wide menu means nobody feels limited in their choice.

First time here and wanted to sit at a both but couldn’t as the way it was designed the seating was so close to the table and you just can’t move around at all very tight fit. The choice of dishes was quite large and the food was pretty tasty my wife was very satisfied with the lamb. The dessert choices weren’t so great and mostly too sweet. We would go back again and take advantage of the happy hour

Running Duck

Very delicious food but extremely oily and not worth 33 dinner I'd go for lunch for i think only 23 We unfortunately missed the lunch buffet as we were hiking. The dinner was 33 cad. Many items, like the rice pudding were covered with thick upper layer because it was from early lunch buffet. Poor dessert selection for the price

Huge dining space inside, which you would wonder exists when looked from outside. Nice patio during the summer but with the construction site, you would want to stay inside. First time in Vancouver I experienced the all you can eat for a fixed price. Huge variety of Indian food and few Chinese food as well. CAD 26 with Tax and you can eat as you wish from the buffet. Lovely to see how the staff refills the buffet with closely paying attention. Taste level is 8/10.. Value for money 10/10

Fantastic food with an extremely large selection of items. I was amazed by the place from the very moment I walked in. A very lively atmosphere with a chic kind of ambience and a spacious seating area. The buffet table is right at the center and the choices available are massive. Usually people tend to mess up when the selection is this big but not this place. Each curry was finger licking good and tasted amazing. The only downside I felt was that the chicken felt slightly harder to chew probably coz it wasn't the freshest but the taste of the curry more than made up for it. The taste is genuine Indian and the staff is super polite and helpful. 10/10 will recommend.
